Fitness has always been a part of me. From a young age, I found beauty in being powerful and strong. Whether it was running drills on the field or lifting weights in the gym, the feeling of pushing my limits became my sanctuary. As a collegiate soccer player, my routine was built around this sense of empowerment—every workout meticulously planned to help me become a better player, a stronger athlete. It was a way of life that I cherished.
But life, as it often does, took me on a new journey. After college, I became a trainer, sharing my passion for fitness with others. And then, I met my husband. Soon after, I found out I was pregnant—a moment filled with excitement, but also uncertainty. The first four months of pregnancy were some of the most challenging I had ever faced. I was incredibly sick, and moving my body felt impossible. It was a stark contrast to the active life I had always known.
Eventually, I regained the ability to move, but with it came a new set of challenges. I was constantly torn between wanting to stay active and the fear of doing something wrong—lifting too much, lifting too little. Every movement carried the weight of uncertainty, and I wondered if other women felt the same way. Despite my fears, I had to move. Fitness had always been my safe place, and even in this new chapter, I needed that familiar refuge.
When my son Matteo was born, the postpartum period became one of the hardest things I had to navigate. My body felt foreign, and I had to relearn what it needed. This was where the idea for the Postpartum Project was born. I craved that feeling of strength and confidence again, but I knew it wouldn’t happen overnight. It would take time, patience, and consistency—principles that had guided me through my fitness journey for years.
As I worked through my own postpartum recovery, my passion for helping others only grew stronger. I wanted to help women just like me, women who were navigating the same uncertainties and challenges in postpartum fitness. I understood that moving our bodies is more than just exercise—it’s about reclaiming a sense of self, feeling empowered, and finding strength again after one of the most transformative experiences of our lives.
The Postpartum Project is about more than just workouts. It’s about creating a community where women can feel supported as they rediscover their strength and confidence. It’s about understanding that our bodies are incredible, and that with patience and perseverance, we can achieve the balance we crave. Whether you’re just starting your postpartum journey or are further along the path, I’m here to help guide you through every step of the way.
Let’s move together, let’s grow stronger together, and let’s embrace this journey of rediscovery with open hearts and open minds. You are not alone, and you are more powerful than you know.
